Did you know that consumers in Texas can now get FREE Credit Reports? 
The federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, as amended by the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act requires each of the nationwide consumer reporting companies to provide consumers with a free copy of their credit report once every 12 months. The three nationwide consumer-reporting companies have set up one central website, toll-free telephone number, and mailing address through which consumers can order a free annual credit report.  To order, click on www.annualcreditreport.com, call 877/322-8228 or complete the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mail it to:  Annual Credit Report Request Service, P. O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. The form may be accessed at www.ftc.gov/credit.
Consumers may order from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies at the same time, or from only one or two.
